Pingree, Poliquin invite Maine high school students to participate in Congressional App ChallengeThe Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is a competition aimed at encouraging U.S. high school students to learn how to code by creating their own applications.
The route to the USA Mathematical Olympiad--open to students beginning at age 8, with multiple levels through 12th grade.The American Mathematics Competitions, Maine Chapter, encourages schools to offer the AMC and also hosts the competition at several sites open to all youth in Maine. AMC 10 and AMC 12, for students in grades 9 through 12, are held in February. The AMC 8, for students ages 8 through 14.5, is held in November. Many resources are available to prepare and learn more!
A high school engineering design competitionThe Real World Design Challenge is a competition where teams of 3-7 high school students use professional engineering software to solve an engineering challenge that is currently faced by industry. With assistance from a mentor, students in Maine compete at the state level. The team with the best design in Maine gets an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, DC to compete in the national finals.
