    First Saturday Board Games

    Board games are an excellent way for kids to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) while having fun!

    STEM Guides Downeast will begin offering free Saturday Board Games at the Washington County 4-H Extension Office at 28 Center Street, Machias from 12:00-3:00pm. These events will continue every first Saturday of the month.

    American Mathematics Competition

    The route to the USA Mathematical Olympiad--open to students beginning at age 8, with multiple levels through 12th grade.

    The American Mathematics Competitions, Maine Chapter, encourages schools to offer the AMC and also hosts the competition at several sites open to all youth in Maine. AMC 10 and AMC 12, for students in grades 9 through 12, are held in February. The AMC 8, for students ages 8 through 14.5, is held in November. Many resources are available to prepare and learn more!
